Challenge yourself by selecting any note name and identifying the dominant chord that would resolve to it. This exercise helps improve your understanding of harmonic functions and chord relationships.

Steps:

  1. Choose a Note: Pick any note name, for example, C.
  2. Identify the Dominant Chord: Determine the dominant (V) chord that resolves to your chosen note. In this case, G7 resolves to C.
  3. Practice the Resolution: Play the dominant chord followed by the resolution to the tonic. For example, play G7 resolving to C.

Repeat this exercise with different notes to strengthen your knowledge of dominant chord resolutions across various keys.
