Learn the song from the ground up using rootless left-hand chords with the melody on top — a real group jazz version you can take to a jam session.
Build an actual improvisation over Blue Bossa using vocabulary, phrasing, and Latin rhythmic feel — not just scales running up and down.
Develop rhythmic coordination and time feel so the groove is natural, not forced. No counting out loud. No guessing. Just feel.
Long lessons are only half the story. The real breakthrough is what happens between them: short Practice Action videos—usually 2 to 4 minutes—that show you exactly what to sit down and work on. No guesswork. No “I’ll just noodle until something clicks.” You press play, follow Willie at the piano, and your assignment is crystal clear.
We built this format into our program because frustrated students kept asking the same question: “Okay… but what do I actually practice tomorrow?” Practice Actions answer that question, every week. It is the innovation we are known for—and we were among the first in online jazz education to pair structured courses with this kind of guided micro-practice.
Each clip is a single, concrete task—so you always know the next rep, the next phrase, or the next bar to own before the main lesson lands.
Short enough to squeeze in daily. Consistent enough to compound. You stay in the groove of the Intensive instead of drifting for days between practice sessions.
Every week you get three Practice Action videos alongside the core lesson—timed to keep momentum high and confusion at zero.
Each week builds on the last. You're not watching random lessons — you're following a clear path that leads to one outcome: playing Blue Bossa confidently with Latin feel, solid harmony, and a jazz solo you're proud of.
Your teaching is clear, calm, and — always joyful. Your love of teaching shines through!
— Tom H., Jazzedge Academy Student
The Intensives feel like being handed a road map. Every stop is clearly marked, and the destination is always in sight.
