Privacy Policy
On this page
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we are
Jazzedge Corp. operates Jazzedge Academy. If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at support@jazzedge.com.
What we collect
Account information — your name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and profile details you choose to add.
Payment information — when you buy a membership, our payment processor collects and processes your card details directly. We receive a record of the transaction, the plan, and the status of your subscription. We do not store full card numbers.
Learning activity — the lessons you open and how far you watch, your favorites, bookmarks, notes, practice log entries, streaks, XP, gems, badges, and certificates. This is what makes your dashboard and progress work.
Content you submit — community posts and comments, support tickets, and any video you submit for a Premier review.
Technical information — IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected in server logs and cookies.
How we use it
To give you access to the lessons and features your membership includes; to show your progress, recommendations, and practice history; to process payments and manage renewals; to answer support requests; to send service messages about your account and, if you have opted in, occasional lesson and product emails; to keep the site secure and detect abuse; and to improve what we teach.
Our legal grounds (for students in the UK and EU)
We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the membership), on the basis of our legitimate interests (securing and improving the site), with your consent where required (marketing emails and non-essential cookies), and to comply with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Academy, and only as needed for them to do that work:
- Payment processing and subscription billing
- Email and CRM, for account and marketing email
- Community and support platforms, which host your posts and tickets
- Video hosting and delivery networks, which stream lesson video
- Automated transcription, which generates lesson transcripts and captions
- AI services, which power J.ai answers and help polish written video-review feedback
- Web hosting and site infrastructure
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, and we may transfer information as part of a business sale or reorganization.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
AI features
When you ask J.ai about a lesson, your question and material from that lesson are sent to an AI provider to generate an answer. Do not include sensitive personal information in your questions. Video-review feedback written by your instructor may be passed through an AI service to improve wording only — your video itself is not used to train anyone's model.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the details and your choices.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data while your membership is active and for as long as needed afterward to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@jazzedge.com. We will respond within the time the law allows. You may also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such email.
Children
The Academy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Younger students are welcome to learn using a parent or guardian's account, under supervision. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information there and in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and we will tell you about material changes.
