Thank you to everyone who joined Paul Buono for Piano Lab today!

For those of you who weren’t able to attend the class live, Willie is currently working on getting the replay up and running on the Jazzedge Academy site so you’ll be able to watch it and work through the session on your own time.

We know many of you are looking forward to catching the replay, and we appreciate your patience while Willie gets everything set up.

We’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready to watch.

Thank you for being part of the Jazzedge Academy community!

We're excited to announce that FOCUS is officially live at Jazzedge Academy! 🎹

If you've ever found yourself wondering...

🤔 "What should I practice today?"

...you're not alone.

That's exactly why Willie created FOCUS.

🎯 What is FOCUS?

FOCUS is a new membership designed to help you build consistency and confidence through live, guided practice.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by endless choices, you'll have a clear path forward with sessions designed to help you:

🎹 Develop practical piano skills
🎼 Build confidence through guided practice
🎵 Strengthen your improvisation and musical vocabulary
🙌 Stay motivated with a supportive community

Whether you're returning to the piano or looking to keep growing, FOCUS is designed to help you spend less time wondering what to practice—and more time making music.

💬 We'd Love Your Feedback!

If you've already explored the new FOCUS membership, we'd love to hear from you.

• What are you most excited about?
• What features do you love?
• Is there anything you'd like to see added in the future?

Your feedback plays an important role in helping us continue to improve Jazzedge Academy for everyone.

Thank you for being part of this amazing community, and we can't wait to see where your musical journey takes you with FOCUS! 🎶

A quick heads up about a change to the community.

Until now, you couldn't see any of this without an Academy account. Starting today, the front door
is open — anyone can find the community, look around, and see that there's something real here.

Here's why: I want people who are searching for help with piano to find us. Right now they can't.
A community nobody can see doesn't bring anyone new in, and new members are what keep this place
active for you.

What has NOT changed:

The Academy Members Only spaces are locked. TCI Live, Say Hello, Practice Lounge, Lesson Help &
Questions, Post Your Performances, Cocktail Piano, Coffee Chat and Community Thoughts are visible
only to members. A visitor sees the name and a lock — nothing else. Not your posts, not your
videos, not your comments.

Everything you have ever posted in those spaces stays exactly as private as it was when you
posted it. Nothing you wrote has been made public.

What IS public:

Start Here, Site Updates, Jazzedge Youtube Videos, and Gear Talk. These are general spaces without
personal content. If you've posted in one of them and would rather it not be public, delete it or
send me a message and I'll take care of it — no explanation needed.

Nothing else changes. Same people, same spaces, same conversations. The only difference is that
someone standing outside can now see there's a door.

If you have questions or concerns about any of this, reply to me directly and I'll answer.

— Willie

I've been building something, and it's close enough now that I want to tell you about it.

A completely rebuilt Academy is coming in September. Same lessons, same teaching — a much better place to do the work.

Here's some of what's coming:

Your direction for the day. Instead of opening the site and wondering what to work on, you'll get one focused thing to practice, drawn from a path you choose based on your goals and your level.

Everything in one place. Your practice log, your streak, your repertoire, your notes, and the lessons you're partway through — all on one dashboard instead of scattered across the site.

Practice that gets tracked. Log a session in seconds. See where your time is actually going, which pieces you're neglecting, and how you're progressing over months rather than guessing.

Notes and bookmarks inside the lesson. Save a moment in a video and jump straight back to it. Keep your notes with the lesson they belong to.

A cleaner library. Faster search, clearer collections, and recommendations that follow an actual sequence instead of dumping everything on you at once.

I'll be posting updates here as things get finished, including a look at the new dashboard before it goes live.

If you have thoughts on what would make the Academy better for you, I'd genuinely like to hear them — head over to Community Thoughts and tell me there.
